PREVIOUSLY OPTIONED SERIES – NOW AVAILABLE

IT WAS OPTIONED. IT WAS IN DEVELOPMENT FOR 6 MONTHS. IT FOUND ITSELF UNOPTIONED AGAIN. WILL YOU GIVE THIS STORY A HOME?

OVERVIEW:

(Senior) Citizen X is an eight-hour superhero epic with a twist.

At its heart, this is a story about society’s two most overlooked age groups – the very old, and the very young – and what happens when a life just beginning, makes friends with a life approaching its close.

The crabby rebellion of Alan Bennett’s Miss Mary Shepherd. Steven Spielberg’s lonely little Henry Elliot. Victoria Wood’s insult-slinging Dolly and Jean. Roald Dahl’s unshakably chipper Charlie Bucket. None of these belong in a superhero saga.

Which is exactly where (Senior) Citizen X will differ.

This is a love letter to the warm-hearted, character-driven blockbusters of the 80s/90s.

A resetting of what the superhero story could be. And an unlikely union of riotous popcorn Hollywood, butted up against a stubborn British refusal to get too overexcited.

LOGLINE:

Much to her annoyance, a decommissioned OAP superhero must save the world one last time when an eccentric little boy turns up on her doorstep.
